Job Details

Lee Anderson MP is looking to recruit a Parliamentary Assistant for his Westminster Office. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage an exceptionally busy MP's schedule.
A solid understanding of Parliament and the political landscape is essential. Prior experience in research, policy and Parliament is desirable.

Working from the Parliamentary office, the Parliamentary Assistant will support with the day to day running of a busy Westminster office. Responsibilities include the Westminster diary, inbox, administrative support, assisting with Parliamentary tours, research, preparing briefings, questions and reports and responding to the dynamic needs of a busy MP's Parliamentary office.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and communication skills and experience of social media and comms. Some out of hours working may be required when Parliament is in session. This role is office based.

• Ability to interact professionally with colleagues, constituents and stakeholders.
• Experience of producing formal letters, briefings and notes of meetings.
• Good organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet  deadlines.
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of the team while prioritising workload.
• A discreet approach to working in compliance with GDPR.
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Competent use of IT including Microsoft Office package, email and internet to support the above.
• A “can-do” flexible professional approach.
• A good understanding of Parliament and the political landscape
• Be sympathetic to the aims and values of Reform UK

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will be held during 21, 22 and 23 July.

The aim is for the successful candiate to commence work in September upon completion of their Parliamentary Security Vetting. 

The position may be closed early should a suitable candidate be found.
