Due to the current postholder relocating, an opportunity has arisen to serve as Head of Office to Calum Miller MP. The core role supports Calum in the management of his team of seven staff alongside the financial management of the office, including the lease and other contracts relating to the office in Bicester. This requires a minimum 0.6FTE commitment. The post is based in Bicester and would be expected to be present there at least three days a week.

The postholder would be expected to help Calum shape the strategy for the team, setting priorities and then ensuring that staff are allocated effectively to key areas of activity: casework, campaigns, communications, constituency events/ visits and parliamentary.

There are further opportunities for the role to extend into playing an active role in these areas, subject to the experience and interests of the postholder. The full team has been in place for eight months and is still being shaped to meet evolving needs, so there is flexibility for the postholder to consider with Calum and colleagues how best they can contribute. For this reason, applications up to 1 FTE are welcome and candidates are invited to set out how they believe they could contribute to the work of the team.

A full candidate pack is available by emailing work4calummillermp@gmail.com Candidates are also actively encouraged to email if they have questions in advance of the application deadline.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
