Becky Gittins MP for Clwyd East is seeking a dynamic Communications Officer to effectively communicate her work to constituents and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be politically astute, able to react to short deadlines, a team player, possess strong digital skills in content production, have experience of managing a busy diary, and have a keen understanding of digital media trends. You will be developing and delivering communications campaigns which are focused on delivering key policy and political messages to stakeholders through both digital and other formats. This will include building and maintaining relations with key regional media and other stakeholders as well as focusing on digital content creation and delivery. You will be required to provide support on policy issues and work effectively with both Westminster and constituency office teams.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated, proactive, and have excellent communication and organisational skills.
This role is based in the constituency office. There may be requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal hours and occasionally travel to Westminster.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead on external communication, including the development and delivery of a digital communications strategy to promote the MP’s parliamentary and constituency work.
• Create high quality digital content including graphics, short-form videos and targeted messaging across multiple channels.
• Publicise the MP’s work through proactive media engagement, press releases, and promotional materials.
• Liaise with local media and monitor coverage.
• Support with policy campaigns.
• Design and deliver online campaigns to promote events, campaigns, and local initiatives.
• Ensure communications activity complies with data protection and IPSA protocols.
• Conduct research into local, regional, and national issues to support the MP’s work and inform policy decisions.
• Support the wider work of the MP’s office as required.
