This is an exciting opportunity to work with Dudley constituency to support Sonia Kumar MP’s external communications with constituents and community stakeholders. The role-holder will be responsible for:
• Producing high quality video and graphics content
• Managing social media and website, including analysis and advertising
• Monitoring and liaising with local media
• Supporting engagement with constituency stakeholders including public sector, community groups and businesses
• Responding to correspondence from constituents and campaign groups
• Supporting the wider team's work to deliver positive outcomes for constituents including assisting with casework and organising community events
• Ensuring records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with data protection legislation
The post will ideally be based in the constituency, but travel to Westminster may be required. Remote work is considered.
There is a requirement to work outside normal office hours.
Skills and experiences
To succeed in this job we need someone with a range of skills and experiences but you must have demonstrable experience at producing social media content such as videos or graphics and be able to point to a portfolio of previous work.
In addition to this skills and practical experience in the following are important:
• Experience of working in a political environment
• Good political judgement
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital creative packages including Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent video editing software
• Ability to build relationships with a broad range of constituency stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor written communication to different audiences
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and adapt to rapidly evolving political situations
• Ability to self motivate and work to deadlines as part of a small, dedicated team

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
