Job Details
Jen Craft MP is looking for an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate Senior Caseworker to join her team in Thurrock.
Key Responsibilities:
• Constituency Casework & Administration
Manage the large caseload of complex cases, this includes,
1. Triaging general casework (housing, road repairs, bins) to policy casework
2. Managing a full-time caseworker and work closely with other staff who support casework e.g. Constituency Support Officer, Parliamentary Researcher, Interns
3. Handling the most complex cases
4. Work closely with the Westminster Team to look for opportunities to raise big issues or specific cases in Parliament or use other appropriate channels – written, oral questions
5. Ensuring responses from organisations that are helpful to others in the constituency are shared on social media or with local groups and organisations
• Constituency surgeries
o Booking constituents in for surgeries and preparing briegings
o Taking notes in surgeries for the MP
o Carrying out actions after the MP surgery and keeping constituents up to date with the progress of their cases
• Community Engagement & Event Management & Diary Events
o Assist the Community Engagement Officer in their event planning, management and post-event actions
o Attend MP events such as coffee mornings, surgeries, street meetings
o Assist with liaising with local stakeholders, community groups when specific casework is needed
o Assist in the creation of briefings for events
• Social Media & Communications
o Help Jen to manage her social media channels, creating engaging content, including graphics and videos and replying to comments on information shared
o Assist with management of Jen’s website
o Draft newsletters, website updates, and press releases as needed
• Other roles
o Analyse, evaluate and interpret data to ensure the Member is accurately informed on key issues and is aware of trends in casework
o Project work
o Develop knowledge
o Research local, regional or national issues to support the MP’s work
We’re looking for an experienced caseworker who is a self starter who can proactively manage the casework and the staff who assist with this important work
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Closing time will be midnight on Monday 14 July.
Interviews will be held on Monday 21 July in person. Shortlisted candidates will be informed of their interview time on Wednesday 16 July. An immediate start will be preferred or a short notice period.
