Looking for a thoughtful, resourceful and professional Editorial Research Assistant to join our team. This dynamic role supports the production of high-profile public policy conferences. Our events bring together legislators, government, regulators and stakeholders to advance thinking on key national issues.
You could work across areas such as Education and Higher Education; Media, Digital and Telecoms; Business; Food and Nutrition; Local Government, Employment and Society; and Devolved and National policy.
You’ll work across the business with diplomacy and a commitment to delivering results. You’ll take ownership of assigned conferences—driving them forward with focus and initiative based on your research—while keeping colleagues and senior staff informed.
We value adaptability and innovation. You’ll be expected to build your skills and make effective use of AI-based assistants and digital tools to support research, writing and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Researching policy issues, developments, speakers and contacts
• Ensuring conferences are relevant, inclusive and balanced
• Drafting agendas, web copy, invitations and outreach content
• Securing participation of senior speakers and stakeholders
• Supporting events—mainly online, some in-person
• Managing projects with care—raising issues, suggesting solutions, keeping managers updated
About You
We’re looking for someone energetic, curious, adaptable and proactive. You’ll take responsibility for delivering work to a high standard without close direction.
You’ll reflect our values of service, impartiality and professionalism, with a diplomatic and commercially aware approach.
You’ll ideally have:
• Experience in policy, conferences, journalism or public affairs
• Excellent writing and attention to detail
• Ability to absorb our values and practices
• Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Strong time management and organisation
• A collaborative mindset and can-do attitude
• Confidence with—or openness to—AI/digital tools
• Outstanding graduates with strong aptitude will also be considered

• Regular pay reviews and development meetings
• Opportunities for progression
