Charlesbye is looking for a bright, ambitious and motivated individual with a background in media and communications, to join our thriving integrated communications and public affairs team.

Founded by former No10 comms chiefs Lee Cain and Lucia Hodgson, Charlesbye is a full-service strategic communications company, with a client roster that includes some of the world's biggest and most exciting brands. 

We’re looking for an experienced and organised individual to join our Borough office who has previously worked in the media, communications consultancies, press offices or media-facing roles, and are now looking to take their next step in a competitive and growing agency.

Job specification

  • Supporting day to day client delivery across accounts, drawing on your knowledge and experience of strategic communications and media placement.
  • Able to draft beautifully written media materials, from eye-catching news stories to thoughtful opinion pieces.
  • Using your network in politics and journalism to get great results for our clients and their stories.
  • Coordinating with team members to help ensure smooth execution of campaigns and project delivery across accounts.
  • Tracking actions across accounts and directing tasks across the team.

Candidate specification:

  • 3+ years experience working in a communications consultancy, in the media or in a media facing role in-house or in a press office, with an excellent knowledge of political and national media, UK government, and Whitehall.
  • Excellent organisation skills and highly efficient client management skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, able to juggle competition tasks.
  • Experience of developing strategic communications strategies
  • Experience of navigating legislative, political and regulatory challenges.
  • Exceptional written skills, a keen eye for detail and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Good innate political and reputational judgement.
  • Excellent attention to detail even under pressure.
  • Brimming with great ideas and enthusiasm.
  • Brilliant people skills, able to support client relationships and provide confident advice.
  • Sets high standards, direction and supports team members.
