Rachel Blake MP is looking for an experienced person to join and manage her small but effective team in Parliament. The ideal candidate will need exceptional political judgement, strong communication skills, and strong attention to detail.
You will manage her staff team, budget and priorities to ensure the smooth running of her office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and maintain a highly professional administrative support function for the MP’s office.
  • Overall management of the Member’s diary requirements, delegating tasks to others as appropriate.
  • Provide high quality, efficient and effective administrative and political support to the MP and interest groups as required.
  • Horizon scanning for parliamentary and constituency opportunities, anticipating what advice or action may be needed.
  • Manage the office team, ensuring that Rachel’s priorities are taken forward.
  • Work closely with constituency team and communications adviser on stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead on project-based work and events in the constituency and in Parliament.
  • Responsible for management of all aspects of budget and security issues.

Required Skills and Values:

  • Supportive of Labour Party aims and values.
  • Experience managing and leading complex teams.
  • Experience of working in a political environment. Parliamentary experience desired but not necessary.
  • An understanding and interest in the issues affecting residents in the City of London and across Westminster.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic. Experience working in a fast-paced environment performing a wide range of tasks.
  • Understanding and interest in Rachel’s key policy interests.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

There will be two rounds of interviews, conducted w/c 28th July and w/c 4th August. 

Start date September 2025.
