Job Details

Stuart Anderson MP is looking for a Junior Caseworker to join a small, committed team working in the constituency office in Bridgnorth, South Shropshire. This is an ideal role for someone with excellent written communication skills who is looking to take an exciting step into a career in politics. This role requires someone who is highly organised and confident in dealing with members of the public. You’ll play a vital role in supporting local residents by helping to manage casework, providing assistance with a range of issues, and drafting thoughtful, well-reasoned responses on complex topics. You’ll be expected to produce clear, persuasive correspondence, contribute to the MP’s digital communications strategy, and help respond to queries via email, social media, and in person. Attention to detail, political awareness, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively are essential.

Key responsibilities include:
• Drafting accurate, sensitive responses to constituents on policy issues, supporting with personal issues occasionally
• Managing casework from initial contact to resolution, maintaining confidentiality throughout
• Liaising with government agencies and organisations on behalf of constituents
• Supporting digital communication efforts, including content creation and managing social media
• Analysing casework trends and preparing reports
• Assisting with the wider communications work of the MP as required

The role is based full-time in the constituency office in Bridgnorth, working closely with local residents and stakeholders. Some flexibility in working hours and occasional travel may be required.

Essential skills:
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Strong digital literacy and familiarity with social media platforms
• Ability to manage an independent workload and support the wider constituency team
• Empathy, discretion and a strong sense of public service
