Job Title: Communications and Constituency Assistant

Job Details
You will:
* Manage Chris’ diary and support organising meetings for Chris and the team if relevant
* Managing the inbox, triaging to different team members and responding to requests where necessary
* Liaise with the team to keep in the loop of ongoing constituency issues and potential constituency stories
* Maintain and improve Website, social media and newsletter management
* Design and produce graphics and video content for social media covering speeches, constituency events and surgeries etc
* Monitor social media enquiries ensuring they are directed to the correct party for resolution
* Develop press releases as agreed
* Monitor and liaise with the media in both a proactive and reactive manner, meeting deadlines as appropriate
* Support the Team in the development and implementation of all aspects of the MP Communications strategy
* Ensure we are communicating Chris’ work and that our work is focused on the key campaign priorities
* Lead on arranging Chris' constituency, community events
* Writing our monthly columns in local media outlets
A successful applicant will have:
* Strong organisational skills
* An awareness of social media platforms and techniques used to publish and promote material
* A high level of computer literacy across Microsoft and similar platforms
* Excellent written & spoken English, administrative and organisational skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
