Job Title: Parliamentary Training Coordinator

Job Details
The Industry and Parliament Trust is an independent, non-lobbying, non-partisan charity that provides a trusted platform of engagement between Parliament and UK business. Non-party political, we work with all parliamentarians and businesses of any sector or size through our educational programmes.
Main Duties
• TRAINING PLANNING: Organise and deliver a range of individual and company seminars for industry representatives from UK business to learn about Parliament
• RESEARCH: Identify areas in which we can continue to inform the business community about Parliament
• RECRUIT SPEAKERS: Cultivate relationships with relevant Parliament speakers to provide engaging content for our training seminars
• STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS: Manage and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partnership contacts, parliamentarians, supporting organisations from UK business, in-house staff, civil servants, and event contractors
• LOGISTICS: Manage and oversee all logistical arrangements for our training programmes, including setting up Zoom sessions for virtual training and booking rooms and catering for in-person training
• WEBSITE MANAGEMENT: Oversee training pages on the IPT website, ensuring pages are continuously updated
• FINANCE: Manage the training budgets and finances, working with the Finance Manager to create forecasts
• WRITING: Write and proof training materials used to promote and explain IPT training programmes
• EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS: Work closely with the Communications Officer to devise and oversee external communications strategies to ensure programmes are accurately reflected in literature and online
• DATABASE: Manage the database to keep an accurate and up to date record of contacts and attendees
• TEAM LEADERSHIP: Work with members of the events and training team to deliver high value IPT programmes, including managing the tour rota
Knowledge and Skills Required
• Politics related degree, some experience of Parliament preferred but not essential
• Persuasive communicator, able to connect at senior levels
• Excellent organisational skills
• Exceptional customer care skills, able to professionally represent the IPT and develop stakeholder relationships
• Competent digital skills including MS Office, database management and Zoom virtual conference platform
