Job Details
Joe Morris, Labour MP, is seeking a highly motivated, well-organised and empathetic individual to join his constituency office as a Caseworker. This is a rewarding and varied role, providing direct support to constituents by helping resolve individual concerns and ensuring they receive the assistance they need.
The role is based in the constituency office and involves close contact with the local community, government bodies, charities and organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a wide range of enquiries from constituents via telephone, email and in person.
- Keep constituents informed about the progress of their cases.
- Maintain accurate, confidential case records in line with data protection requirements.
- Research and gather information to ensure fair and timely resolution of cases.
- Liaise with government departments, local authorities and third-sector organisations to secure positive outcomes.
- Identify patterns or recurring issues and escalate to the Senior Caseworker.
- Provide general administrative support to the MP and office team.
- Support and accompany the MP to advice surgeries and constituency visits, providing follow-up assistance where required.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft high-quality correspondence.
- A professional, approachable and empathetic manner with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Experience of keeping accurate case notes and professional records.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and contribute positively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends (time off in lieu will be provided).
