Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Support the Luton Campaign Team on strategic planning and campaign organisation.
2. Organise volunteers and local party workers to drive the campaign plan
3. Ensure effective delivery of doorstep and telephone voter contacts.
4. Oversee and contribute to the production and delivery of campaign literature per the literature plan, both local and constituency‑wide.
5. Build and develop digital campaigning capacity with key volunteers.
6. Organise volunteers to enter data in the online database—ensuring confidentiality and data retention compliance; enter data personally if needed.
7. Provide limited support to the fundraising group, as part of wider duties.
8. Undertake recommended training to develop and maintain required skills.
9. Perform any other duties required by the line manager to further effective communication, campaigning, and organisation in the area.

Person Specification

Essential

* Ability to communicate effectively with, and gain the confidence of, a variety of stakeholders.
* Proven track record recruiting, mobilising and managing volunteers.
* Demonstrable “can‑do” attitude and resilience under pressure.
* Understanding and experience of election campaigning and campaign management.
* Skill in motivating and managing a team, and working effectively as a team member.
* Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise a wide variety of tasks.
* Consistently meet deadlines.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to delegate effectively.
* Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats.

Desirable

* Knowledge of the local area, politics and communities.
* Ability to produce effective political literature.
* Good digital skills; willingness to learn campaign software/apps (e.g. Connect, Lighthouse, Affinity Publisher).
* Ability to identify campaign issues with local potential.
* Experience of working with local media and generating positive coverage.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
