Dame Meg Hillier, the Member of Parliament for Hackney South and Shoreditch, is looking for a Senior Caseworker to join her team. Caseworkers are at the heart of an MP’s office, ensuring that constituents’ concerns are heard, and actioned.

This is a senior role within the team. You will manage complex and sensitive cases, oversee the output of casework across the office, and support junior colleagues. The role would particularly suit someone with prior parliamentary experience and a strong understanding of how constituency casework connects with national debates, government policy and legislation.

Meg is looking for someone who is proactive, politically astute, and able to suggest solutions rather than wait for instructions. The ideal candidate may already have experience supervising staff, or be ready to take the next step into a management role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a caseload of complex and often sensitive cases, ensuring they are progressed effectively.
• Taking overall responsibility for the quality and timeliness of casework across the team.
• Delegating to, supervising, and supporting junior colleagues.
• Drafting responses to constituents, Ministers, government agencies, and other organisations.
• Providing briefings for the MP on case trends and issues affecting the constituency.
• Organising advice surgeries and other local events, including managing security arrangements.
• Liaising with external stakeholders to resolve cases and support local projects.
• Contributing to strategic constituency projects and linking casework insights with Meg’s work in Parliament.
