Job Details
Basingstoke Constituency Labour Party is seeking a proactive and creative Local Organiser to support campaigning and community engagement across the constituency. This flexible, part-time role is ideal for someone passionate about grassroots organising and Labour values, with a strong ability to motivate volunteers and deliver effective campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate campaigning activity as determined by the CLP Chair and MP Luke Murphy including door-knocking, phone-banking, leaflet distribution, and public events.
• Design and produce campaign materials including leaflets, newsletters, and digital content to promote the MP, councillors, and candidates.
• Deliver digital campaigns across social media, email, and websites; manage online petitions and targeted messaging.
• Recruit, train and mobilise volunteers to build strong local campaign teams and a dedicated leaflet network.
• Support the MP and councillors with local engagement, communications, and member outreach.
• Maintain campaign data and track activity using Labour Party systems (e.g. Contact Creator, Organise).
• Provide training for volunteers and CLP officers; liaise with the CLP Executive and Regional Office as needed.
Essential Skills & Attributes:
• Knowledge of Labour Party values, policies, and campaigning structures.
• Experience in political or community organising.
• Ability to produce printed and digital materials using tools like Canva and Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
This is a one-day-per-week role with flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, organised, and committed to building Labour’s presence in Basingstoke.
