Job Details
Description:
Faiths Forum for London is seeking volunteer assistants who are eager to apply their skills to maximise social impact through our “Seeds for Change” initiative and are encouraged to apply.
About “Seeds for Change”
Seeds for Change is working toward transforming 100 green spaces at places of worship around England into vibrant community gardens. The initiative prioritises areas of high deprivation, where our gardens will aim to address key issues related to community cohesion, social isolation, and access to green spaces. Through our gardens, our secondary objective is to help our faith communities access innovative green technologies and opportunities, ensuring a place for them in the green energy transition.
As a volunteer worker, you will assist in a variety of tasks, from identifying relevant
grants to engage with to consultancy-adjacent work delivering bespoke solutions to time-starved communities to find meaningful ways to bridge the wider communities with our gardens. It would be advantageous if you are already affiliated with a faith group and could assist in presenting and facilitating this opportunity to them.
Desired Skills:
- Numerical proficiency.
- Good understanding of the green energy landscape.
- Basic understanding of environmental sciences.
Responsibilities:
- Communicating with key stakeholders (MPs, councillors, local leaders).
- Grant research and writing.
- Keeping an eye out for overall milestones.
What you will gain
As an FFL intern you will gain the experience of working in a non-profit setting. Past volunteers have
utilised experience from this project and our organisation for work in the civil service, consultancy programmes, and other non-profit work.
We regularly host workshops and roundtables to bridge the community faith leaders with senior policy decision-makers, to which all our interns are invited to attend and help facilitate, should they desire.
Working Time
Because this is a voluntary position, you will not have set working hours. Our team works full-time, but interns have previously met on Mondays and Wednesdays. We are more than happy to accommodate contact times that are convenient to you
Closing Date: 29 September 2025
Interview/Start Dates
Interviews will be scheduled shortly after the closing date, to take place at a time which is convenient for everybody.
