Job Title: Part-Time Temporary Caseworker
Working For: David Taylor MP (Hemel Hempstead)
Location: Constituency Office - Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Salary: £25,000 per annum (pro rated for 30 hours per week over 4 days)
Length of Contract: Six Months (starting January 2026)
Job Details
Experience:
• Previous experience working in a UK MP’s office, with direct casework responsibilities, or similar • Strong working knowledge of Caseworker.MP (or equivalent case management software).
• Confident in meeting constituents face-to-face and speaking with them on the phone, often to discuss challenging and personal issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear correspondence and respond sensitively to constituent concerns.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent IT skills, with proficiency across Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and confidence in learning new systems quickly.

• Highly organised, with the ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
• Resilient and empathetic, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated but also a strong team player.
• Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving ability.
• Politically aware, sensitive to the role of an MP’s office and sympathetic to Labour Party values.
Practical Requirements:
• Able to be based in the Hemel Hempstead office at least 80% of the time.
• Flexible to adapt to the demands of a busy office.
