Job Details

The Scottish Liberal Democrats are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated person who can play a key role in building our volunteer infrastructure and leading campaigning on the ground for the upcoming Holyrood Elections.

You will be calling our members and prospective volunteers to ask how they would like to support our election efforts, updating our database as you go, matching their skills and motivations to the available roles.

 

You will lead campaigning across the Highlands organising and taking part in regular campaign sessions from canvassing with a small team to larger action days.

The successful candidate will require strong communication skills, a welcoming attitude, and the confidence to have engaging conversations with people both on the telephone and in person.

Job Description

  • Work with the Campaign Team to agree key targets to build campaigning and organisational capacity – including recruiting volunteers, specialists, leaflet deliverers and running action days.
  • Support a team of constituency volunteers, and build strong personal relationships with key stakeholders and activists.
  • Lead canvassing and action days across the Highlands.
  • Contact by phone and in person, members, volunteers, and supporters to ask how they can help in the run up to the next election.
  • Match volunteers to roles, organise introductions and on-boarding process with the relevant stakeholders to successfully mobilise new volunteers.
  • Provide weekly updates on progress to the Campaign Manager and track key metrics.
  • Ensure that relevant databases are updated and maintained.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

Personal Specification

The following criteria are considered essential:

  • Strong personal organisation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, mobilise and manage volunteers.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision; self-motivating and able to manage own workload.
  • Sympathy with the values and principles of the Liberal Democrats.
  • Comfortable using Facebook and Office Suite.
  • Full driving license and access to vehicle
