Job Title: Office Manager

Working For: Nick Timothy MP (West Sussex)

Location: London

Salary: In line with IPSA pay scales

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

Nick Timothy MP is recruiting a full-time Office Manager to join his Westminster team. This is a central role in a small, fast-paced office, perfect for someone who is highly organised, a natural communicator, and confident running the show behind the scenes.

You will be the first point of contact for the office, keep the diary running smoothly, and make sure casework and correspondence are handled with care and efficiency. The right person will be trusted to work independently, manage competing priorities, and keep everything on track so the team can deliver for constituents.

What you will be doing:

• Owning Nick’s diary and ensuring priorities are met
• Taking charge of mail and the shared inbox, handling and triaging all correspondence
• Overseeing the flow of casework, papers, and enquiries across the team
• Preparing expenses claims and maintaining the Register of Interests
• Acting as the first point of contact for calls, emails, and visitors
• Managing office administration, from supplies to HR records
• Ensuring consistent and effective use of IT systems, especially the casework database
• Supporting events, meetings, and engagement with interested parties as needed

What we are looking for:

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Proven organisational ability, with sharp attention to detail
• The confidence to work independently and solve problems proactively
• Discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive information
• Strong IT skills and the ability to get the best out of office systems
• A collaborative, approachable style that works well in a small team
• Experience in office management or administration

Parliamentary or political experience is a bonus, not a requirement.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on responsibility, and takes pride in making an office run at its best.

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
