In this role, you will oversee various policy areas, depending on your experience, including transportation, buildings, land use, industry, trade, and international diplomacy. You will also implement and iterate the ECF's transport strategy in the UK, while engaging in grant-making, providing policy insights, and networking with key individuals across the policymaking, business, and civil society communities.
Key Responsibilities for Senior Associate:
- Shape and execute ECF's strategy across different sectors in the UK.
- Manage grant-making processes, from project scoping to monitoring progress and impact assessment.
- Stay updated on climate politics, track policy developments, and identify potential partners.
- Collaborate internally with other ECF programs, operations, and communications teams to enhance organisational impact.
- Build partnerships with influential figures in the UK and Europe, fostering collaborations and representing ECF UK and sector programs.
Experience and Competencies:
- Deep interest and passion for climate and environmental issues.
- Expertise in climate policy areas like road transport, aviation, buildings, land use, industry, trade, and international diplomacy.
- Profound understanding of the UK's policy-making landscape and stakeholder dynamics.
- Campaign-oriented mindset with political astuteness to drive impactful change.
- Strong network within the UK climate community
- Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement
Key Responsibilities for Associate:
- Grant-making: Scoping projects, soliciting proposals, commissioning studies, and monitoring progress.
- Programme support: Tracking budget, facilitating meetings, and reporting on events.
- Policy insight: Staying informed on climate politics, tracking policy developments, and identifying new projects.
Experience and Competencies:
- Strong interest in climate and the environment.
- Expertise in climate policy areas.
- Campaign mindset and political acumen.
- Strong network in the UK climate community.
- Excellent communication skills.
