Policy Research Lead (Full-time, Permanent)
Location: St Albans

Have you generated research and analysis that drives impactful news stories?
Do you have knowledge of the healthcare sector and current public policy issues?
Have you worked in public affairs, media relations, or campaign advocacy?

The role
Enhance the NPA’s public affairs and policy work through research and analysis.
Support communications and campaigning with evidence that drives news stories.
Identify and utilise external data sources to strengthen policy positions.
Build the NPA’s evidence base by gathering and presenting member insights (qualitative and quantitative).
Key facts
Hybrid working: home-based with at least 1 day per week at NPA Head Office (St Albans, just outside London).
Availability: Immediate or short notice preferred.
The candidate
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Strong interpersonal, written, and data presentation skills.
High-quality output to deadlines with excellent organisation and prioritisation.
Deep knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Confidence in explaining complex insights clearly to varied audiences.
Experience managing complex projects and showing initiative.
Flexibility, sound judgement, and critical thinking skills.
Knowledge of healthcare and public policy issues, with the ability to identify relevant data sources.
A qualification in research methods (desirable).
