Salary: £28,000-£33,000 (In-line with IPSA pay scales dependent on experience)

Length of Contract: Full time (flexibility required around parliamentary schedule)

Job Details

Liam Conlon MP is seeking a Digital Communications Officer to lead on digital communications. The successful candidate will support Liam’s parliamentary and constituency work. The role will be based across both Westminster and the constituency office in south London.

The successful candidate will be creative, strategic, digitally fluent and able to create clear and engaging content. While the focus will be digital communications, the successful applicant will also support other administrative tasks where required.

There may be a requirement to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for visits occasionally.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Strategy: Develop and deliver a proactive digital communications plan across social media, website, and email newsletters.
Content Creation: Design, produce, edit and schedule engaging written, visual and video content tailored to different platforms (X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, etc.).
Website & Newsletter Management: Maintain and update the MP’s website; produce regular email newsletters and digital updates.
Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor digital engagement and feedback; provide regular analytics reports and insights to improve reach and impact.
Photography & Video: Capture and edit photos and videos of the MP’s activities in Parliament and the constituency.

Person specification

Essential:

• Demonstrable experience managing social media channels and creating digital content for an organisation, campaign, or individual.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using digital content tools such as Canva, Photoshop, or video editing software.
• Highly organised, proactive, with good time-management skills.
• Sympathetic to the aims and objectives of the Labour Party.
