About Westminster Consultancy
Westminster Consultancy is a new strategy and communications firm working at the intersection of public policy, media, and civil society. Though newly established, our founders bring long, proven experience across Europe designing and delivering high-impact campaigns, building coalitions, and advising mission-driven organisations on reputation, narrative, and stakeholder engagement in the UK and internationally.
The role
We’re looking for a sharp, proactive PR Officer to grow earned media coverage, strengthen our relationships across Westminster and the media, and help deliver campaigns that move decision-makers and the public.
Key responsibilities
Secure positive, high-quality coverage across UK and international media (print, broadcast, online).
Draft press releases, op-eds, media lines, Q&As, and briefing notes; maintain messaging grids.
Build and manage journalist, editor, and producer lists; handle reactive enquiries and media monitoring.
Support parliamentary engagement: stakeholder mapping, MP/Peer outreach, event invites, and briefings.
Plan and deliver press events, roundtables, and campaign launches.
Track impact with clear KPIs and weekly reporting for clients and internal teams.
Maintain issues calendars and rapid-response processes.
About you
2–4 years’ experience in PR/communications (agency, Parliament, newsroom, NGO or in-house).
Strong media instincts and a proven record of placing stories.
Excellent writing and editing skills; able to turn complex material into clear, compelling copy.
Confident working with senior stakeholders under time pressure.
Familiarity with Westminster, Select Committees, and UK media cycles.
Organised, data-literate, and comfortable with media monitoring and CRM tools.
Experience working with MPs and Peers is an advantage.
Ability to use social media effectively (content, engagement, analytics; organic and paid desirable).
Genuine interest in the politics of the Middle East.
