About the role
Jess Asato MP (Lowestoft, Beccles & the Villages) seeks a diligent, people-focused Office Administrator/Caseworker to help residents and keep a busy constituency office running smoothly. You’ll mix frontline casework with organised administration, supporting a friendly team in a demanding setting.

Key responsibilities

Casework
• Manage a varied caseload.
• Triage/log cases; track progress, deadlines and outcomes in Caseworker.mp/Caseworker (or similar).
• Handle phones, emails and letters; assist at surgeries and follow up.
• Liaise with Ministers, NHS, councils, agencies and housing associations to progress cases.
• Draft clear, empathetic responses; escalate where needed and manage expectations.
• Maintain accurate records; handle data in line with GDPR.

Office administration
• Coordinate constituency meetings, surgeries and events.
• Support finance/admin tasks (invoices, supplies, visitors, scheduling, data entry, expenses, petty cash).
• Oversee facilities (cleaning, repairs/waste, first aid, supplies).

Essential criteria
• People-facing and/or office experience; able to manage a busy workload.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; professional phone manner and good interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to draft letters/emails to a high standard with strong attention to detail.
• Confident, empathetic approach to the public; able to handle difficult or emotive situations sensitively.
• Highly organised and efficient; able to juggle tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficient IT (Microsoft 365/Outlook); comfortable with databases and quick to learn.
• Experience with casework systems (e.g., Caseworker.mp/Caseworker) or similar.
• Discretion, sound judgement and strict adherence to GDPR/data protection.
• Self-starter who works proactively and collaboratively in a small team.
• Commitment to Labour values and awareness of UK political issues.

Desirable
• Parliamentary casework or advice-sector experience (e.g., welfare, housing, pensions, immigration).
• Knowledge of Lowestoft.
