Westminster Consultancy is a new strategy and communications firm working at the intersection of public policy, media, and civil society. Though newly established, our founders bring long, proven experience across Europe designing and delivering high-impact campaigns, building coalitions, and advising mission-driven organisations on reputation, narrative, and stakeholder engagement in the UK and internationally.

We’re recruiting a Political Adviser to work directly with politicians—MPs and Peers—to provide sharp policy advice, draft high-impact materials, and build cross-party support for priority initiatives. You’ll operate at pace, managing relationships in Westminster and coordinating with external stakeholders to move agendas forward.

Key Responsibilities
• Advise MPs/Peers on strategy and policy positions.
• Track legislation, select committee work, and government announcements; produce timely analyses and lines to take.
• Build and maintain cross-party networks; arrange meetings, roundtables, and delegations.
• Coordinate with NGOs, think tanks, and advocacy partners; secure endorsements and coalition backing.
• Monitor political risk and opportunities; recommend interventions that have a realistic path to impact.

Person Specification
Essential
• Direct experience working with MPs and/or Peers in Parliament, a political office, or a public affairs role.
• Excellent drafting skills—able to produce concise, persuasive copy under tight deadlines.
• Proven track record of building cross-party relationships and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Strong understanding of the UK policy and parliamentary landscape (legislative process, committees, Hansard).
• Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple workstreams.

Desirable
• Experience supporting campaigns related to media freedom, human rights, or foreign affairs (interest in Middle East politics is a plus).
• Competence with political monitoring tools and CRM platforms.
• Event/programme management experience (briefings, receptions, APPG activity).
