With the company motto "Best in class, Best fun to work with", The Terrapin Group is looking for an ambitious and dynamic Account Manager/Account Director to join our growing team. We are a well established public affairs agency working in the built environment sector. The new executive will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most senior and highly respected practitioners in the industry. The successful candidate is likely to have worked in public affairs for at least three years or to have similar, relevant experience from an associated sector. Their role will include:

• Developing strategies to enable our clients to succeed
• Managing client account teams on multiple accounts and building on client relationships
• Bringing together clients stakeholders, politicians and local interest groups
• Running public consultation exhibitions and thinking up new and relevant ways to engage with communities
• Writing newsletters and news releases, and designing websites and exhibition boards
• Reporting progress to senior management and at a weekly team meeting
• Developing a network of contacts
• Finding new business leads, writing proposals and pitching to prospective clients
• Providing support for the development of colleagues


The successful candidate will be able to take to the role running. They will enjoy helping their clients succeed, working as part of a team and be fascinated by politics at a national and local level. They will have practical knowledge of the public affairs/political/media arena and understand the workings of Parliament and local government as well as an interest in property development and regeneration. The ability to write well (for reports, newsletters and press releases), perform under pressure and work on multiple projects at the same time are all essential qualities to succeed in the job.Good organisational skills and an eye for detail are also important. The role requires networking with clients and politicians from all political parties. A sense of humour is essential!

Interview/Start Dates

First round interviews will be held online and are likely to be conducted as applications come in. Successful candidates will then be invited to our Westminster office at the beginning of November where they will be asked to do a short test and a second round in person interview.
