About the Role
We’re recruiting a Caseworker to play a key role in supporting constituents, resolving issues, and making a real difference locally.
As part of a busy constituency office, you’ll be on the frontline of Jonathan’s work — helping residents navigate government and local services, providing advice, and ensuring every voice in Hartlepool is heard.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a range of constituency casework from the public by phone, email, and in person.
• Draft clear, professional correspondence on behalf of Jonathan Brash MP.
• Attend local meetings and surgeries, supporting follow-up actions.
• Log, track, and manage cases accurately and confidentially.
• Research and gather information to help resolve issues.
• Provide timely, professional updates to constituents.
• Contribute to wider team work, including community engagement.
• Support colleagues across the office in a collaborative environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex issues clearly and sensitively.
• Strong organisation, able to prioritise competing demands.
• Empathy, patience, and professionalism when dealing with people from all backgrounds.
• Integrity, discretion, and a commitment to confidentiality.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital literacy.
• Commitment to Labour values and awareness of UK political issues.
Desirable Experience
• Experience using casework systems (e.g. Caseworker.mp).
• Work in parliamentary casework or the advice sector (e.g. welfare, housing, immigration, debt).
• Knowledge of Hartlepool’s people, services, and community networks.
• Understanding of local and national government structures.
