Purpose of the Role:
We're looking for a highly proficient and experienced Comms and Digital Media Officer to communicate the work of Monica Harding MP. Experience on digital platforms, social media management, create captivating content and excel at copy writing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the MP’s objectives by building a confident, consistent and clear voice across all communication channels.
• Work with team to shape and deliver a social media and online strategy that reflects the MP’s priorities, values, and policy missions.
• Produce compelling, inclusive and accessible content across platforms to highlight local work, campaigns and parliamentary activity.
• Attend events and meetings with the MP to ensure we share authentic, high-quality stories for Esher and Walton constituents.
• Regularly review communications activity to assess impact and continuously improve engagement strategies.
• Coordinate communications for campaign initiatives, focusing on meaningful outcomes for constituency.
• Manage all communications in line with data protection, parliamentary standards and IPSA guidelines.
• Maintain good links with local and regional press, managing both proactive and reactive media relations and copywriting
• Support the casework team as needed.
Person Specification:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
• Strong understanding of digital communications and social media platforms including Meta Advertising.
• Skilled in creating digital and print communications, including video editing and design (Canva, Kapwing and Youtube).
• Good political judgement, awareness of current affairs, and experience in campaign or political communication desirable.
• Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and to deadlines.
• Collaborative, approachable and professional a great team player.
• Flexible and adaptable, willing to support occasional evening and weekend work.
