Role Overview
This is a unique opportunity to manage a busy and impactful constituency office, supporting Iqbal Mohamed MP’s work in Dewsbury and Batley. You’ll be the first point of contact for constituents, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure the office runs smoothly and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
• Office Leadership: Manage all aspects of the constituency office, including staff coordination, systems, training, and compliance.
• Constituent Services: Improve and oversee casework processes, ensure timely responses, and maintain the highest standards of service.
• Diary & Event Coordination: Organise the MP’s local engagements, surgeries, and community meetings.
• Communications: Support local outreach, draft correspondence, and liaise with stakeholders and community groups.
• Reporting & Compliance: Ensure accurate record-keeping and adherence to parliamentary protocols and data protection standards.
Skills and Experience
• Proven experience in office management, public service, or community engagement.
• A record of successful casework, policy work, and project delivery facilitated by the use of technology and appropriate tools .
• A master at building human networks and bringing together stakeholders to drive delivery and improvements, deputising in for Iqbal at some meetings.
• Providing data driven political advice and insights based on existing data and new surveys.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and an obsessive attention to detail.
• The highest abilities in written and verbal communication.
• Ability to lead, inspire, train/coach and manage a diverse team with differing personalities, and competing priorities.
• Commitment to the values of transparency, inclusion, and public service.
• Experience handling sensitive casework or working with vulnerable individuals.
• Knowledge of parliamentary procedures and constituency operations.
• Managing the constituency office budget ensure we meet all data, security, expenses, and other requirements.
• Ready to get stuck into the issues in the constituency and assist with resolution.
• Alignment with the MP's values, politics, and policy interests.
Desirable
• Familiarity with Dewsbury and Batley’s local issues and demographics.
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Interview/Start Dates
Interviews will take place at the constituency office in Batley from 21 November 2025.
The start date is as soon as possible subject to parliamentary security vetting which can take approximately 4-6 weeks.
