Job Details
Rachel Reeves MP is looking to appoint a full-time caseworker to join her hard-working, fast-paced and committed constituency office team.
Applicants should have a strong command of written and spoken English, a good telephone manner and be efficient and well organised with strong attention to detail and a genuine passion to serve the constituents of Leeds West and Pudsey.
This would be an ideal opportunity for a candidate with previous experience as a caseworker, although applications will be considered for those without specific casework experience.
The post holder will be working on a fixed term contract of 12 months.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Critically analyse patterns of enquiries and articulate the findings in reports and communication with the MP and other staff members.
- Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media or face-to-face in a timely manner.
- Deal with large quantities of casework in a timely manner, drafting responses to constituents, gathering relevant information to assist with resolving cases, and liaising with the team or external organisations to resolve cases.
- Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
- Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with data protection legislation.
- Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately.
- Accompany and assist at constituency visits, meetings, surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
There will be a requirement for the post holder to occasionally work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work, with agreement.

- Excellent written communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Capacity to manage a high and complex workload.
- Ability to work effectively in a small team.
- Sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party.
