Job Details

We are looking for a motivated, organised individual with strong communication and creative skills to play a key role in shaping the work and public profile of Marie Goldman MP.

The successful candidate will oversee the MP’s constituency diary; coordinating meetings, visits and events. They will manage a wide variety of correspondence from constituents, colleagues, local organisations and stakeholders, ensuring that every interaction is handled efficiently and with care.

The role will have a strong focus on communications and community engagement. The postholder will liaise with media outlets, create compelling content across digital and print channels, and strengthen Marie’s profile locally through well-planned visits and events.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and confident when working with a wide range of people. Excellent written English, together with keen attention to detail and an eye for engaging content are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure.

Main duties include

  • Manage the MP’s diary. Coordinate and attend meetings, visits, and events across the constituency
  • Assist with surgeries and other meetings, proactively following up as appropriate
  • Deal with a large volume of correspondence and enquiries from colleagues, stakeholders and members of the public by email, phone, social media or face to face
  • Establish and build a strong working relationship with local and regional media organisations, write press releases, and ensure regular coverage of Marie’s work
  • Produce high-quality social media and website content, including graphics and videos, to grow online engagement
  • Proactively conduct research and identify local or national issues that inform campaigns
  • Work with colleagues and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the MP is well briefed before media engagement and events
  • Gather relevant information to assist with resolving casework and support the casework team in responding to constituency correspondence
  • Provide general administrative support for the constituency office

There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
