We have an exciting opportunity to join the Vegan Society. The role is full-time, on a permanent basis.

The post holder will play a vital role in shaping public discourse and policy through rigorous research and strategic campaigning.

The main responsibility will be supporting the delivery of public-facing campaigns, alongside providing additional support with policy research.

Key responsibilities:

Campaigns:

- Manage the campaigns inbox
- Develop briefs for campaigns and help coordinate approvals of campaign materials
- Assist with research, public engagement tactics, and social media trends
- Assist with the implementation of behaviour change and public-facing campaigns
- Monitor and evaluate campaign activity
- Assist with campaign copywriting
- Liaise with other TVS teams to support campaign delivery
- Support campaign events throughout the year

Policy:

- Monitor political developments, upcoming Bills and debates
- Identify stakeholder influence and engagement opportunities, and ensure ongoing engagement is recorded
- Identify opportunities to raise The Vegan Society’s concerns in the UK and EU parliaments, local government and devolved administrations, highlighting opportunities to influence parliamentarians and ministers on key issues
- Assist with the logistics of organising events at conferences

Who are we looking for?

- GCSE English and Maths Grade 4/C/equivalent or above
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to complete tasks efficiently and accurately from both written and verbal briefings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrable interest in campaigns and lobbying, as a means of bringing about positive change for the vegan movement
- Good general knowledge and understanding of vegan issues
- Someone who follows a vegan lifestyle and is passionate about animal welfare, human and planetary health
- An organised team player with the skills and ability to work independently
