Job Details
The office of the Rt Hon Liam Byrne MP is looking for a full-time Digital Communications Officer to join us from early January 2026.
In this role, you will be central to promoting the MP’s work, engaging with constituents online, and supporting campaigns on key issues such as tackling inequality, improving local services in Hodge Hill & Solihull North, and scrutinising national business and trade policies through select committee work.
You will help turn complex ideas into accessible content, ensuring that the MP’s work reaches and resonates with a wide audience.
Key Responsibilities
• Film, clip, edit, and subtitle short videos for social media and online platforms
• Create graphics, infographics, and data visualisations that bring policy and campaign work to life
• Draft and adapt content for multiple channels, including website, newsletters, and social media
• Develop and implement strategies to grow and engage online audiences
• Monitor and analyse digital engagement to inform communications strategy
• Support events, campaigns, and local outreach initiatives

Skills and Experience
• Strong video editing skills (Premiere Pro or similar)
• Proficiency in graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop)
• Proven experience creating engaging social media content
• Ability to work quickly, accurately, and to tight deadlines
• Interest in politics, public policy, and parliamentary processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
