The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) is seeking a Senior Economist for our most ambitious project: "A New Agenda for Liberalisation: Understanding the Barriers to Economic Growth".
This three-year research project will identify barriers to UK economic growth and propose pro-growth liberalisation policies across taxation, planning, energy, regulation, and trade.
The Role
You'll lead research and writing of major papers, manage external contributions, and communicate findings through media, podcasts, and education programs.
The ideal candidate has an advanced degree in economics or related fields, excellent quantitative and writing skills, and commitment to market-based solutions.

- Full-time position in Westminster (alternative arrangements considered)
- Salary: Up to £75,000
- Start: 2 February 2025 (flexible)
