Job Details
Janet Daby MP is seeking a Digital and Communications Officer to manage her digital output and support clear, effective communication with constituents across multiple platforms.
The successful candidate will be creative, organised, and digitally confident, able to turn Janet’s parliamentary and local activities into engaging, accessible content.
Key Responsibilities
• Create clear, engaging digital content across multiple platforms, including graphics and videos.
• Maintain and update the MP’s website and social media, ensuring a strong and responsive online presence.
• Handle public enquiries professionally across phone, email, social media, and in person, following data protection requirements.
• Promote local activities such as surgeries and community updates.
• Track the effectiveness of communications and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Draft press releases, media briefings, and monitor relevant media coverage.
• Support constituency casework by liaising with agencies and organisations where needed.
• Conduct research to inform the MP’s parliamentary and local work.
• Provide general communications support to help advance the MP’s priorities.
• Be available for occasional out-of-hours or travel commitments, with work across both Westminster and Lewisham offices.
Essential Skills
• Degree-level education.
• Strong interest in current affairs.
• Experience in digital communications.
Desirable
• Work experience in Parliament, local government, or political/advocacy settings.
If Shortlisted
• Submit a 1-minute reel demonstrating past digital work.
• Present evidence of digital design ability.
