Job Details

The Conservative Environment Network (CEN) is the home for conservatives who support responsible environmental leadership. We are looking for an organised and motivated events and admin officer to support the coordination and delivery of CEN’s busy events programme and provide administrative support across the CEN team.

Events are a crucial part of CEN’s work as we seek to promote the cause of conservative environmentalism with our expanding network of parliamentarians, councillors, grassroots supporters, and overseas partners. This new role will involve working across the CEN team to support the design, coordination, and execution of our programme of roundtables, dinners, receptions, and overseas delegations, as well as our presence at Conservative Party Conference. It will also involve supporting the smooth functioning of CEN’s governance through managing our workplace policies and papers for our board and advisory council.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across CEN’s climate, nature, clean air, outreach, and international programmes, as well as with the organisation’s senior leadership. We hope that there will be the scope to expand this new role in seniority and scope depending on funding and performance. We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate strong organisational skills and the enthusiasm to undertake this busy cross-cutting role to support the CEN team.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of CEN’s event programme, through inviting attendees, and coordinating event logistics.
  • Support the organisation of CEN team and network trips, including UK-based visits and overseas delegations.
  • Support the organisation of CEN’s Conservative Party Conference presence and events programme.
  • Support with the establishment and day-to-day management of CEN's new business network.
  • Organise CEN board and advisory council meetings and coordinate the compiling of relevant papers.
  • Undertake other tasks as required.

Person specification:

  • A strong belief in conservative environmentalism.
  • Demonstrable experience in an events management and/or administration role.

  • Strong numerical skills and the ability to manage budgets.
  • Excellent organisational skills
