Rail Delivery Group (RDG) is looking for a Planning & Policy Development Officer to join our Policy team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Britain’s railways by supporting long-term planning and policy development that underpins rail reform and the creation of Great British Railways.

Key Responsibilities

You will:
Gather and analyse data to inform policy and planning decisions.
Draft policy briefings, reports, and consultation responses.
Coordinate engagement with members and stakeholders.
Provide secretariat support for governance groups such as the Station Strategy Group.
Support initiatives that enhance the social value of stations and promote inclusivity.
Organise and deliver major events, including the Stations Summit.

Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience in data analysis and policy development.
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Excellent communication skills - written, oral, and presentational.
Ability to work flexibly across multiple policy areas.
Computer literate and confident in handling data.

Desirable
Experience in planning or policy-making within the rail or transport sector.
Familiarity with industry bodies, government departments, or stakeholder groups.
