Purpose of the role
Reporting to, and supporting the CEO, the Head of Policy and Public Affairs is responsible for
delivering LCCI’s political engagement programme and developing policy, research and
thought leadership.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify and promote policy solutions to the key issues facing LCCI members. This will include creating a research programme (reports, publications, events, etc) aligned with LCCI’s policy priorities.
- Support the CEO’s public affairs engagement programme, maintaining day-to-day relationships with relevant stakeholders including officials (GLA and central government), MPs’ staff, trade associations, and committee members.
- Draft public affairs materials including briefings, speaking remarks, updates, letters etc. in partnership with external advisers.
- Line manage the wider policy team. Manage the policy and research team’s outputs, assigning work, tracking progress, and signing off deliverables before sharing with senior leaders.
- Work with external advisers on policy and public affairs strategy.
