An Exciting Opportunity to Shape the Future of Policing in Hertfordshire
This is a unique chance to join the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) at a pivotal transitional phase.
In 2024, we welcomed a new Police and Crime Commissioner and recently a new Chief Constable bringing fresh leadership and renewed ambition to policing and community safety in the county.
In March 2025 the Police and Crime Commissioner launched an ambitious new five-year Police and Crime Plan—setting out a bold vision for a safer Hertfordshire. This marks an exciting time to join our team as we build the capacity and capability to deliver on this vision.
We are assembling a high-performing team with big aspirations—people who are not only full of great ideas but who can also turn those ideas into action. If you are ambitious, collaborative, high-performing and thrive on making a real difference, this could be the role for you.
About the Role
As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will provide expert advice to the Commissioner on a wide range of policing and crime matters. You will lead on the development and delivery of innovative policy, drive partnership activity, and play a central role in coordinating the implementation of the new Police and Crime Plan.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is a strong communicator and influencer, able to build trust and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Can manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure in a fast-paced policy environment.
• Understands the complexities and sensitivities of working in the criminal justice and public safety landscape.
• Is passionate about putting victims, children, and communities at the heart of everything we do.
We welcome applications from individuals who are motivated, strategic, and results-driven—people who can generate fresh policy ideas and see them through to delivery and impact.
Closing Date: 5 January 2026
