The Scottish Conservative Parliamentary Group are looking to recruit a new Digital Officer to join the Digital Team in the Scottish Parliament.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the planning, designing and delivery of the digital output for all Scottish Conservative MSPs.
The Role
This role represents a unique opportunity to support the work of the Scottish Conservative MSPs in the Scottish Parliament.
Working in the Scottish Parliament and reporting to the Head of Digital, the successful candidate will be part of a team of digital officers tasked with supporting all Scottish Conservative MSPs by delivering the party’s social media and online content as part of the wider communications strategy.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Creating original and engaging content for the Scottish Conservative MSP Group’s online output
- Organising relevant content for Scottish Conservative elected representatives for their own accounts as required
- Liaising closely with colleagues on digital output to ensure consistent messaging
- Working with the wider media team to build strong digital content as part of the overall communications strategy
- Undertake further media office duties as required, including being part of the weekend rota
Requirements
- Experience producing high-quality video content for digital platforms
- Strong understanding of what performs well on different platforms, with the ability to adapt tone and format for each
- Experience of delivering a digital media strategy
- Confident filming, editing and publishing photo/video content, including on-the-day reactive material
- A working knowledge of Adobe software, particularly Premiere Pro and Photoshop
- Ability to create clear, effective graphics and video assets
- A self-starter who can work on their own initiative, manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
- Ability to work closely with others both in the media team and other departments
- Good political judgement
- A full UK driving licence is essential, with the ability and willingness to travel across Scotland
