Job Details
Cat Eccles MP is looking to recruit a Constituency Support Manager to join her busy constituency office on a full-time basis, supporting her work for the constituents of Stourbridge, Brierley Hill and Netherton.
The role will involve supporting other members of the constituency team with key administrative and casework issues, as well as helping Cat to stay in touch with constituents through community engagement and communications. This role has a key focus on communications, website management and social media support.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• maintaining a forward plan of proactive press and social media activity, gathering content from local events and visits, casework generated through the office and issues raised on behalf of constituents
• leading on campaigns on local issues of concern to constituents
• organising community meetings as required
• engagement and maintaining positive relationships with key local stakeholders, including councillors, community organisations, faith groups, local campaign groups, public service providers, local business, employers and constituents
• keeping up-to-date with data and reports about the constituency for use in communications, campaign, questions in the House of Commons, policy development
Skills preferred
• an understanding of politics
• an understanding of the role of an MP as a constituency representative and champion
• experience in setting up and running local campaigns
• experience in communications, including social media, local press, broadcast and written literature
• strong digital skills
• ability to analyse data and statistics and synthesise complex reports
• ability to manage a heavy workload and prioritise work
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• some experience of working in a small, effective team
• sympathetic to the aims and values of the Labour Party
• knowledge of the Stourbridge constituency
