Job Details
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Communications Officer to join our busy team, supporting Alex McIntyre the MP for Gloucester.
Alongside the Constituency Support Manager, you will support Alex in publicising his work to constituents and wider audiences through a range of channels, including social media, his website and the press. The role will also involve supporting with events organisation.

Job Details
- Produce high quality video and graphics content appropriate for the intended audience, to include targeted messaging.
- Establish, monitor and update social media and online platforms, in particular Facebook, Instagram and Nextdoor.
- Monitor social media for key local issues and sentiments, including through engaging with queries and comments on Alex’s accounts.
- Manage Alex’s website.
- Support Alex’s parliamentary work through proactive publicity and communications.
- Produce press releases for local media outlets.
- Monitor media coverage both local and national.
- Write regular op-eds on Alex’s behalf.
- Draft regular email newsletters.
- Draft print materials when appropriate, for example leaflets and print newsletters.
- Ensure the tone of all digital and print materials aligns with Alex’s values and priorities.
- Work with the Constituency Support Manager to develop and deliver a social media and digital communications strategy.
- Contribute to office discussions regarding priorities and key themes in the constituency.
- Assist with the organisation of constituency events, such as coffee mornings and supermarket surgeries.
- Support the wider work of Alex’s office as required.

- Commitment to the values of the Labour Party.
Additional information
The role will involve irregular working hours, including evenings and weekends.
Some travel may be required.
