Come and join our team! Imogen Walker, Member of Parliament for Hamilton and Clyde Valley, is looking for an enthusiastic and creative person to join her office as a Constituency Communications Manager, working in the constituency office in Hamilton, flexible working will be considered. This role is full time (37.5) but part-time hours will also be considered for the right candidate.
This is the chance to work in an exciting and varied role where you can make a real difference. Imogen is focussed on providing support to residents who need assistance or representation. You will be a key part of the team, ensuring that her work is communicated effectively to residents, that local campaigns and issues are heard in Westminster and at home.
Responsibilities will include:
• Develop and deliver a constituency-focused communications plan
• Create engaging digital content, including short-form videos, reels, infographics, graphics, and social media posts tailored to local audiences across a range of channels
• Design and produce printed materials such as newsletters, leaflets, posters, and community notices
• Contribute to the regular updating of the MP’s website as a central point of information for constituents
• Draft press releases and media statements on local issues, and respond to local press enquiries where appropriate
• Monitor social media, flagging emerging issues and areas of interest
• Collate case studies, quotes, photos, and videos to support community outreach
• Promote local visits, campaigns, surgeries, and events through digital and print platforms
• Ensure all communications are accurate, politically appropriate, and aligned with the MP’s tone and messaging
• Be willing to work evenings or weekends to support local events or campaigns
Imogen is looking for someone who has:
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong social media skills, including content creation and short-form video
• Confident using website and newsletter platforms
• Able to design leaflets, posters, and newsletters using tools like Canva
• Good political judgement and awareness of current affairs
• Well-organised, with the ability to work independently
• Friendly, professional, and a team player
• Willing to work occasional evenings or weekends, with time off in lieu
