Job Purpose
This role sits at the heart of UK Finance’s international work and will play a key part in ensuring the smooth delivery of our international engagement programme, including major events, overseas visits and cross‑organisation coordination. The intern will, inter alia, be responsible for supporting our international affairs team with monitoring, research and will lead on our engagement coordination.
This internship would be an ideal opportunity for an ambitious graduate or under-graduate who is seeking to pursue a career in international affairs, public affairs or policy. The role offers exposure to senior industry stakeholders and the operational realities of running a high‑profile international function. The position is well-suited to a candidate with interest in the nexus between international politics and regulation, diplomacy and financial services.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting our international affairs team with the following:
Desk research and insights gathering to support policy development and international engagement.
Monitoring and collating political and regulatory developments on relevant policies in the UK and key international jurisdictions.
Managing and updating databases, trackers and engagement logs.
Drafting briefings, member content, updates and newsletters to support communications with members and other stakeholders.
Supporting the delivery of events and coordinating our engagement activity.
Assisting with international travel coordination and visit planning for UK Finance leadership, including meeting schedules and logistics.
Providing administrative support across the team to ensure smooth operations. Supporting other colleagues where international input is required.
Any other reasonable tasks required to support the team’s objectives.
