Job Details

Rosie Wrighting MP is looking for a caseworker to work from her Kettering constituency office. Experience of casework is advantageous but not necessary and training will be available.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media, or face-to-face, on local issues such as housing, education, immigration and transport.
  • Draft responses to constituents and letters to local stakeholders, ensuring that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially, and accurately.
  • Log cases, monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken. Ensure records are kept and information is managed confidentially.
  • Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
  • Assist surgeries and constituency events and follow up as appropriate. Assist with arrangements for events – this may include research.
  • There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
  • Develop knowledge in specialist areas of casework.
  • Support with constituency projects and undertake any other reasonable requests.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence interacting with a wide range of people.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to take initiative and be responsible for own workload.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise a demanding workload, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Empathy when dealing with sensitive or emotional issues.
  • Commitment to helping constituents from all backgrounds.
  • Sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party.
