Working For: National Education Union

Location: London

Salary: £66,030 per annum

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

Based in the NEU Hamilton House Office (London WC1H 9BD)

Full time, Permanent

The National Education Union is a powerful force for change in education, representing 500,000 teachers, lecturers, support staff, and leaders. As we undertake an extensive staffing review, this is an exciting time to join us on our journey to becoming a more agile, strategic, and powerfully coordinated trade union—ready to meet the challenges of the future and drive lasting change in education.

As part of the Legal Strategy Department, we are looking to appoint a Casework Systems & Analysis Specialist who will work with colleagues on the development of a high-quality casework management system with the capacity to assist the union’s strategic priorities. You will lead on the collation and analysis of casework and legal assistance trends across the union. You will be responsible for analysing casework and legal assistance trends to identify strategic cases, opportunities to improve advice and guidance and potential bargaining priorities. You will be able to use data to inform the implementation of the NEU Representation Strategy.

You will have project management skills and the ability to work strategically to prepare, review and deliver project plans to achieve agreed objectives and priorities. You will have relevant experience in a casework, policy, research or campaigns environment and a knowledge of the NEU’s political, educational and legal contexts.

Prospective applicants are also advised that your normal place of work will be the NEU office specified in this advert and that the NEU operates ‘Blended Working Arrangements’ for office-based staff, which means you will typically need to be based in the designated NEU office for 3 to 4 days a week (based on a full-time contract), with the remaining days based at home, and subject to business needs.

In addition to salary, we offer good conditions including 33 days’ annual leave plus Christmas closure days and a defined benefit pension scheme. Salary and benefits are pro-rata for part-time applicants.

Please note the closing time is mid-day on the closing date.
