Job Title: Communications Officer

Job Details

The role will be based in both the Westminster and Maidstone offices by flexible arrangement depending upon House sitting periods and constituency needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Craft compelling written content tailored for press releases, Mailchimp newsletters and digital platforms
• Manage and grow the MP’s presence on X, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
• Monitor media coverage and liaise with media as required.
• Prepare media briefings.
• Undertake proactive and reactive communications with all media.
• Produce high quality short form videos using tools such as Canva and Veed
• Manage and maintain the MP website
• Support wider parliamentary and constituency communications as required

About you - you will be:
• A consummate writer with the ability to adapt tone, style and format for different audiences
• Confident in video creation and digital storytelling
• Proactive, politically aware and able to work at pace
• Comfortable using AI tools as part of your daily workflow
• Ready to start immediately if selected

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
