Job Details
Key responsibilities
● Manage social media channels, including planning, creating and posting content
● Produce compelling video content from concept to completion, including clipping, scripting, filming and editing
● Maximise reach and engagement by using analytics to determine the most effective digital content and delivery
● Create graphics and other visuals to effectively communicate our policies and campaigns
● Draft, adapt and develop online content for different channels, including newsletters, WhatsApp groups and social media
● Manage social media channels
● Recommend ways of improving internal and external digital communication strategies, including the use of mediums such as podcasts to promote the work of Lib Dem peers
● Provide diary management support to the Liberal Democrat Leader and Chief Whip in the Lords, including helping to plan for their participation in meetings and events
Essential skills and experience
● Experience of successfully managing social media channels for a high profile organisation, brand, campaign or politician
● Strong videography and editing skills
● Good visual design skills - an ability to produce high quality, visually appealing content
● Ability to be proactive and work well both independently and as part of a team
● Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities; to work to tight deadlines; and to work on a number of different initiatives at the same time
● Excellent writing ability, with an attention to the accuracy of language
● Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the confidence to interact with politicians and staff at all levels
● A strong understanding of the UK’s current political environment and how to engage with Liberal Democrat members, and with voters
● Good diary management
● A deep interest in politics, policy and the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats
Desirable skills and experience
● Knowledge and understanding of the Liberal Democrats, including the opportunities and challenges facing the Party
● Knowledge and understanding of the House of Lords
