Job Details
ACT New Zealand is seeking a new Auckland & Northland Field Officer to build, grow and support our teams of volunteers around the country and effectively deliver the Party’s campaigns on the ground.
We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, who would relish a fast-paced role, travelling around the country to build relationships with volunteers and find solutions to problems.
ACT New Zealand is a constructive and solutions-focused political party, that exists to promote and implement better public policy for all New Zealanders. Since 1994, we have consistently advocated for greater personal freedom, and an open, benevolent society in which individual New Zealanders are free to achieve their full potential. ACT is now part of the current centre-right coalition government, driving reform across New Zealand.
This is an exciting year in New Zealand politics with the general election scheduled to take place on Saturday, 7 November, This opportunity to be in the thick of the action during the campaign.
As Field Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing the field strategy and ensuring election campaigns are well organised on the ground
- Building and growing teams of volunteers across the Region
- Ensuring hoardings and leaflet distribution programmes are well organised
- Coordinating voter contact activities on the ground
- Providing training and guidance for volunteers
- Supporting the delivery of local events and conferences
- Providing support to MPs, candidates and key volunteers
Skills & Attributes
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Strong problem-solving skills and can-do attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Great interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Excellent organisational, planning and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook, in particular)
- In-depth knowledge of New Zealand politics and alignment with the ACT Party’s mission and values
- Experience with digital campaigning tools and databases such as NationBuilder is desirable
- Experience working with volunteer or membership organisations would be helpful

Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, and we reserve the right to appoint prior to the closing date should a suitable candidate be found.

Application Details
The Auckland & Northland Field Officer role is based in our Head Office in Newmarket, Auckland but will involve a significant amount of travel around the Auckland & Northland Region. A driving licence is essential.
