Job Details

Sir Gavin Williamson, the Member of Parliament for Stone, Great Wyrley and Penkridge, is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join his busy Parliamentary office three days a week, supporting his digital and social media needs in both Westminster and the constituency.

Organisational skills, a clear focus for detail, and strong social media skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Craft compelling written content tailored for press releases, Substack newsletters and digital platforms
• Help maintain a strong online presence aligned with the MP's priorities and values
• Assist with stakeholder engagement and outreach campaigns
• Support the growth of the MP's presence on X, Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin
• Monitor media coverage and flagging relevant issues
• Other office activities to support the MP, as required

Desirable skills and experience:
• A consummate writer with the ability to adapt tone, style and format for different audiences
• Confident in video creation and digital storytelling
• Proactive, politically aware and able to work at pace
• Comfortable using Al tools as part of your daily workflow
• Competent in graphic design/video editing tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.)
• Demonstrate a portfolio of experience covering press, online and social media profiles
• Knowledge and familiarity of parliamentary duties and the work of an MP, including policy interests, and constituency issues
• Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party

Please note that this is a part-time role

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
